Frequently Asked Questions

What means Pay What You Can?

To make tickets as accessible as possible for as many people as possible, we use the 'Pay What You Can' pricing model for certain performances.

How does Pay What You Can work?

You will always find a range of prices to choose from. The base is the suggested price. Does a lower rate facilitate your visit? Then you are free to choose that. You would then select the lowest Pay What You Can rate. Can you afford a higher ticket price? Then choose the highest Pay What You Can rate. This way, you ensure that others can pay less. Thank you for your solidarity!

Where can I order my tickets and is it possible to buy tickets the evening of the performance?

Tickets can be reserved/ordered at Ticketservice Kortrijk, located at Schouwburgplein. This can be done at the counter or by phone at the number 056 23 98 55. Tickets can also be reserved/ordered through our website and printed at home.

From one hour before each performance at Schouwburg Kortrijk, you can purchase (still available) tickets for that evening's performance or pick up your reserved tickets, also at Ticketservice Kortrijk.

How do I create my profile on the website?

In the video below, we explain how you can create your personal profile on our website. You must first create a profile before you can reserve your tickets.

Are people who come to late admitted?

All performances start on time. People who arrive late will only be admitted to second-class seats (side balconies), with the permission of the artists.

Where can I go for a drink/ to eat before and/or after the performance?

We have our own Theater Café where you can go for something to eat and/or drink before, during the intermission, and after the performance. When the halls are full, the upper foyer will also be opened.

Is there somewhere I can safely store my personal belongings?

Lockers are provided to store your personal belongings. Lockers that can be locked personally are available both in the basement and on the ground floor.

An age limit is listed for family performances. Can I bring a child who is younger than the specified age to the performance?

For family performances, a minimum age has indeed been established. We strongly request that this is respected. Babies or very young children may be refused entry. In that case, the tickets will not be refunded.

Can I take pictures with my gsm/tablet during the performance/concert?

The use of mobile phones and tablets in the auditorium is prohibited and may be a reason for removal. Taking photos, videos, and/or audio recordings during performances is also prohibited. This is only allowed for our house photographers and photographers of the companies.

May I take a drink into the venue?

Food and drinks in the venues are strictly prohibited. Only during upright performances (flat floor) may a drink be brought into the venue.

Are earplugs provided at loud (music) concerts/performances?

Earplugs are available free of charge at the reception. Feel free to ask our front-desk team for them at the start of the (music) concert.

Is background information provided with the performances?

For a number of performances (especially dance, theater, musical theater, and classical music), an introduction is provided. This gives you a preview, of course without diminishing the magic of the performance. You can find the introductions on our website, in the brochure, and on your ticket.
Where possible, we create a program sheet with concise explanations about the performance, an overview of the artistic team, and a handy calendar with upcoming performances in the same genre.

Are there any extras planned for certain performances?

For some performances, we indeed sometimes provide an extra feature. Such as a debate, film, exhibition, DJ, or informal meeting with an artist. For family performances, there is often a surrounding activity planned where both children and parents are actively involved. We also offer nice surprises during projects like Spinrag, Next festival, and the opening weekend.
So be sure to keep an eye on the website, as these are sometimes announced later!

For a number of performances, I see the note: "this performance is scene-by-scene." What exactly does that mean?

Scène by scène means that the audience is seated on the stage itself in the main venue. These are often intimate performances, making the experience even more intense.

Are pets allowed in the venue?

Bringing pets to performances is strictly prohibited.
However, assistance dogs are welcome.
