Since 1948, all countries are obligated under international law to prevent or stop a suspected genocide.

Including Belgium.

With this message on the facades of Flemish cultural institutions, we urge the Belgian government to adopt a much more decisive policy against the blatant violation of human rights by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank.

We call on the Belgian government to work towards an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israel from the illegally occupied territories, to enable massive humanitarian aid for Gaza, to safeguard financial support for UNRWA, to impose national and European economic sanctions against Israel, to suspend the EU association agreement with Israel, to stop importing products from the occupied territories, to bring war criminals to justice at the International Criminal Court, and to recognize the Palestinian State. We ask the Flemish Minister of Culture to support the cultural sector in this stance and to defend the sector on the international forum if it is sanctioned (canceled) because of this position.
