#SBS 5.2: Jengman
Jengman is a Belgian pop artist who combines alt-R&B, soul, pop, and cinematic elements. He grew up in a musical family in Antwerp, where artists like Michael Jackson and D’Angelo shaped his sense of rhythm and emotion. A Usher concert in 2011 inspired him to become an artist himself, after which he began writing, covering songs, and developing his own sound.
Since 2018, he has been working in the studio on music that sounds emotional, modern, and soulful. His songs tell personal stories about love, loss, doubt, and ambition. Performing live remains his primary way of connecting with people, which has already led to opportunities such as opening for Bawo and a spot in the finals of Soundtrack For Artists. Jengman creates his entire artistic world himself. He writes, co-produces, and directs all his visuals - from cover art to music videos and campaigns. This creative independence is an essential part of who he is. For Jengman, all of this feels like the beginning of a much larger journey. He is ready to grow, travel, connect, and above all: touch people with every word, every note, every show.
In this Schouwburgession, he performs the song ‘Gorilla’.
