How many times have you thought: “I really should have said no”? For Maarten Hoekzema, that happens often, very often. But where most people would rather forget those moments, Maarten delights in telling the stories. With so much pleasure, in fact, that after this show you definitely won’t be thinking “I should’ve said no”.

The Dutch cabaret artist Maarten Westra Hoekzema (1980) has been living in Belgium for many years. His first solo monologue, 'Soms schrik ik van mezelf', immediately earned him the Jong Theater Werk Award at Theater aan Zee. He later founded the collective unm together with Louis van der Waal and Kyoko Scholiers. In the meantime, he continues to create solo shows that increasingly lean toward cabaret - though his masterful storytelling is never far away.
