After the First World War, the murder story became wildly popular, with its grotesque plots, cut telephone lines, secret passageways, locked rooms, know‑it‑all baronesses, nimble butlers, stubborn detectives, and the immortal words: “someone in this room did it.” Here, horror barely leaves a mark and justice always prevails. The harsher the real world, the more successful the whodunit - now as much as then.

In 2023, Les Âmes Perdues, Tom Goossens, Mitch Van Landeghem and Muziektheater Transparant already turned the operetta genre upside down in Fledermaus Forever. With Killer Thriller, they now aim their musical‑theatrical poison darts at the whodunit, serving not one but several murder mysteries at the same time.

A film screening is brutally interrupted, someone goes missing at sea, characters drop dead only to reappear in another storyline, and plotlines hook into one another.
