Join 'Plant Theatre for Plant People' and become part of a unique artistic parade that brings the renewed Theatre to life. From striking costumes and masks to a symbolic opening of the building, the Plant People set the festive celebrations in motion. A special moment you won’t just witness, but help create.

Experience the festive opening of the Schouwburg with Plant Theatre for Plant People: an artistic protest march that arises from a series of workshops in collaboration with Texture. In several preceding workshops, striking costumes and masks were designed and developed under the guidance of Ayla Castelein, Bo Claeys, and Marieke Ghyst. These costumes, masks, and banners are now used in a festive parade that departs from the Texture museum and winds through the city, ultimately ending at the Schouwburgplein at the entrance of the renovated theater. The parade then joyfully opens the building and invites exploration of all the nooks and crannies of the structure.
