Vero has made dance her own at Platform K, a company for dancers with disabilities. Ben has disciplined his body through years of training in ballet and contemporary dance. What happens when these two very different dancers meet? An intimate portrait of human connection.

What happens when two dancers with two very different lives meet? Veronique (Vero) has made dance her own at Platform K, a dance company for performers with disabilities. Benjamin (Ben) has disciplined his dancing body through years of ballet and contemporary training.

They find each other in a dance that does not shy away from risk. They love challenging one another — pushing themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually to the limits of what they believe they can do. They want to leave hierarchical structures based on physical ability, gender, and age far behind. They search for a form of physical contact in which it is no longer clear who supports whom, or who leads whom.

The more they let their bodies speak for themselves, the freer they feel — in the dance, with themselves, and with each other. In doing so, do they also liberate contemporary dance from its conventions of formality and virtuosity? The result is an intimate portrait of human connection: layered, fluid, and deeply felt.

Zelden was ik me zo bewust van het feit dat je in een theater kijkt naar mensen die weten dat je naar ze kijkt. Dat je oordeelt, maar ook beoordeeld wordt. Het is een eenvoudig, maar treffend gebaar. Zien en gezien worden, als een bevrijding. Theaterdans op zijn sterkst.
