Two dance‑makers live with the reality of occupied Palestine, yet each carries and experiences it in their own way. They dig into their bodies, searching for a movement language that liberates. What unfolds is a meeting of contradictions and vulnerabilities, of tension and humour.

This project brings together two Palestinian artists, Marah Haj and Nur Garabli. Marah grew up in Kofor Yassif (PS) and now lives in Antwerp. Nur was born in the Ajami neighbourhood of Jaffa (PS), where she still resides. In a context of ongoing disruption, they seek connection by collaborating for the first time. Although both live with the reality of occupied Palestine, they experience and carry it in their own distinct ways. Together, they explore what their bodies - and the encounters they enter into - can make visible.

‘In relation to whom? مرتاحة؟’ unfolds like an archaeological process: the two dancers dig into the body as a living, transforming material, anchored in the present. It becomes a meeting of contradictions and vulnerabilities, of humour and tension. A search for new ways of thinking by treating the body as an ally.

As dance‑makers, Marah and Nur examine the internalised violence they carry from their dance educations, shaped by militarisation and Western techniques. In response, they rewrite a movement language on their own terms. They work non‑linearly, resist fixed meanings of past and future, and embody an intimate transmission from their mothers and grandmothers.
