‘RAFAGA’ hits like a sudden, forceful gust of wind - a jolt to our balance and a signal that something new is on its way. A dance performance with an intergenerational group of dancers with and without disabilities, in which we leave the world as we know it far behind.

Inspired by the French cult novel 'La Horde du Contrevent' (2004) by sci‑fi author Alain Damasio, choreographer Lisi Estaras creates a dance performance that leaves the world as we know it far behind. To do so, she brings together a cast rarely seen on our stages: an intergenerational group of dancers with and without disabilities.

'RAFAGA' means something like a sudden, forceful gust of wind. An obstacle to our freedom of movement, a disruption of our balance. But just as much a sign of something new approaching - something whose exact shape we do not yet know. A new form that each of us might already carry within us.
