Maybe love is the one story we keep rewriting because we never manage to tell it right - only close enough to try again.

In 'Smeltelings', the bookshelves are stacked with impossible longing. In the Library, lovers find what they’re looking for: creaking titles, rustling quotes, inspiring stories and mysterious spines. And yet, the silence is deafening. Will they finally find the words that love so often makes us stumble over?

'Smeltelings' becomes a search for what is still left to say about love after centuries of writing. Perhaps it always comes down to that one sentence - only phrased just differently enough.

'Smeltelings' is the fourth production by WeThePeople, led by Sara Gracia Santacreu. WeThePeople is a social‑artistic theatre collective from Antwerp with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. The company brings together people with and without disabilities to create theatre, starting from the artistic expression of the performers and the power of collaboration. In doing so, they break through the boxes society tends to place us in.
