Bannon ingeniously uses her visual impairment to look beyond typical magic tricks - a white rabbit, a magic wand, a cloud of smoke- and offer a glimpse of a world where truth and illusion, representation and reality converge.

In her solo performance, Jo Bannon, a visually impaired Crip* artist, invites you to take a peek behind the velvet curtain of ‘The Dirty Work’. By combining the tricks of the trade - a white rabbit, a magic wand, a cloud of smoke - with her own experiences, Bannon offers you a glimpse of a world where truth and illusion, representation and reality converge.

Through delicate choreography and magician’s talk that reveals more than it conceals, she exposes the invisible work that determines how we move through the world—effortlessly balancing between the visible and the invisible.

This is not just a magic show; it is a reflection on visibility, disability, and the invisible labor we all perform. Say ‘white rabbit’ three times and watch the magic unfold before your eyes!

* ‘Crip’ is a political and cultural identity embraced by some people with disabilities.
