Performer and pole dancer River Roux knows better than anyone how to challenge taboos. In 'Androgynous. Portrait of a Naked Dancer.' she follows in the footsteps of Anita Berber and other legendary figures from 1920s Berlin, exploring how art can resist censorship.

A hundred years ago, Anita Berber transformed Berlin nightclubs into avant‑garde spaces where she fused eroticism and gender fluidity through thrilling performances. Of her body of work - erased by the Nazi regime - only press reviews and police reports remain. Lola Arias, performer River Roux, former gay porn actor Bishop Black, and Dieter Rita Scholl, a seventy‑year‑old travesty artist, revive the enchanting beauty of her dance in 'Androgynous. Portrait of a Naked Dancer', a bold piece at the intersection of documentary theatre and choreography.
